Hilda Awori

Hilda Awori is a dynamic filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist with extensive experience and training across various storytelling mediums, including theatre, film, radio, documentary and digital content production.

Her work explores themes of resilience, women’s rights, culture,transformation, and identity, with a commitment to amplifying authentic voices and inspiring meaningful change.

Notable works include I Won’t Kneel, an impact-driven documentary short that won multiple awards across Africa, including Best Film on Women Empowerment at the Africa Film for Impact Awards (2021). Additionally, Promises, a film she wrote earned the Best Student Film award at the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (2020).

Driven by a deep passion for storytelling, she hopes her work not only entertains but also sparks innovation, shifts mind-sets, and inspires change.
