Lamaro Lindah Angel

Lamaro Lindah Angel is a budding playwright, poet and voice actress originally from Gulu district, in the northern part of Uganda, who started writing as a tool for expression, and through her consistent writing, she has grown and is still growing.

Some of her poems have been featured on online platforms such as Miraquill, Poetizer, Muwado, an anthology titled, “Songs of the Wind” and recently in the January 2025 edition of the Writers Space Africa (WSA) literary magazine.

Her first poetry award was a book titled “You Are a Badass Every Day,” by Jen Sincero, which she received after winning a classroom poetry slam in senior six. As a playwright, Lamaro was privileged to have written a play titled, “Human-eaty,” which was staged during world theatre day in 2024 at the National Theatre in Kampala. The play was staged by Artistry Ensemble, an upcoming theatre company under which Lamaro is a co-founder.

As a voice actress, Lamaro gained interest in voice acting after taking part in a series of play readings at Tebere Arts Foundation. She has worked with AD Creatrix as a voice actress for a radio drama project which will begin to air in 2025.

Lamaro was a student of Makerere University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Drama and Film. Currently, she is an emerging artist at Tebere Arts Foundation where she is being moulded into a better, well-rounded creative artist.
